An independent historian travels to a remote, insular town to document the final words of a dying community. At first, the assignment feels straightforward; interviews, memories, fragments of a history soon to be lost.

But the longer he stays, the more the town begins to feel wrong. The locals grow increasingly distant, their conversations marked by strange pauses and half-truths, as if something unspoken binds them together.

 

At night, symbols glow faintly in the fields surrounding the church, patterns that seem to shift when he looks too long.

As unease takes hold, the historian begins to question not just the community’s past, but his own purpose there. What drew him to this forgotten place, and what presence will ensure that he never leaves?
